No, it wasn't the sea defence fairies that have made the walk along the River Stour even more attractive, but our very own hard working and effective Footpath Group.
The landslip overspill, which has blighted the section of the Stour coastal path below the Heritage Park at Shotley Gate, has been cleared and drainage aggregate installed (pictured right).
The final top surface will be restored using granite chippings on Sunday, March 22. The work is part of ongoing maintenance of the Heritage Park undertaken by members of the Footpath Group, and funded by Shotley Parish Council.
Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, along with Community Outreach Workers, will also be involved but all volunteers are welcome. Contact Gary Richens 788555 or Geraint Pugh for further details.
