Shotley is a picturesque village with around 2,500 residents and a strong community feel, which led it to being named both Babergh and Suffolk Village of the Year in 2015.
Lying between the Rivers Orwell and Stour on the Essex/Suffolk border, the wonderful views alone make Shotley a marvellous tourist destination. Add the history and culture gained from its two war cemeteries at St Mary's Church - maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission - and the HMS Ganges museum at Shotley Marina together with the many walks (routes of which can be found on the outside of the Bristol Arms public house), you then have a wonderfully interesting area to explore.
A wide range of activity groups for young and old and some great faciities make Shotley a special place to live.
