Gary Edwards is the run coordinator of The Great Run Local Alton Water which is a free family and indeed dog friendly 2k or 5k run or walk held each week on a Sunday morning at 0925. The whole thing is organised and run by volunteers who are trying to get people out doing some form of exercise in a safe and friendly environment.
After being injured in the forces and suffering PTSD, Gary can't begin to tell you what exercise can do not just physically but mentally too. He woke up just over 6 years ago weighing over 25st. 352lbs.
He gave up alcohol and started running and has since lost over 165lbs and, after help, is more mentally able to deal with life's hurdles.
People of all ages, shapes and sizes are invited to a really friendly event which has over 120 people turn up to take part each week.
