Shotley Cinema

Films are screened at the Shotley Village Hall. We have the benefit of high quality digital film equipment which includes a four metre screen. The system is also connected to the village hall hearing loop.

Our thanks to Suffolk County Council, Babergh District Council and Shotley Parish Council who have kindly sponsored us to enable films to be shown locally.

For more information on the cinema equipment see equipment link

We aim to show films to meet local demand, so please complete the suggestion form here

Saturday 23rd November 2013 –
Suffolk Ipswich & Past, 7:30pm (East Anglian Film Archive) & Quiz –
Tickets £10-00 with buffet supper and a drink
Suffolk and Ipswich Past (East Anglian Film Archive):
Relive the story of Ipswich as the town's past comes to life before your eyes. Using a variety of archive film, discover how people lived and worked from 1912 through to the 1960s. Highlights include: Street scenes from the 1930s, Ransomes, Ipswich airport and the docks, a rare feature on the cartoonist Giles, Ipswich Town FC and interview with Alf Ramsey.
The screening of this film forms part of an exciting fundraising evening towards the purchase of much needed black-out curtains for the village hall, from which many Shotley organisations will benefit. We are likely to receive some funding towards this but we need to also make a healthy contribution ourselves. We really need your help!
Previously we have had a sell-out when showing this difficult to find archive footage and we hope that this time will be no different.
We will provide a buffet supper and a drink as part of the ticket price of £10. We will also be running a draw and a locally themed quiz.
So please come along for a really entertaining evening and help provide this much needed facility.
